About
Hello, I'm Whitney. I was born on a Friday morning in 1983. I grew up on a farm in the shadows of the Oregon Coast range, but now live, work and play in south east Portland.Elsewhere

Dave took this photograph of me on Friday night. A bonfire, good friends, drunken laughter, a bottle of rosé and a glorious ocean sunset made for a wonderful evening.

My weekend, Rules of Attraction style:
Drinks at Clyde Common, First Thursday, dinner at Piazza Italia, running into my brother and sister-in-law, a visit to urgent care, a negative strep test, antibiotics anyway, pho, an afternoon nap, dinner at Toro Bravo, Kettleman’s Bagels, Germany vs. Argentina at 7 a.m., a drive to Mount Saint Helens, witnessing trashy 4th of July fireworks purchasing, $7 worth of fun, car naps (thankfully no drooling), mountain berry cobbler, dinner at Yakuza (best burger ever!), breakfast at Screen Door with Dave’s parents and my momma, new sun dresses, Sauvie Island berry picking, running away from scary chickens, berry juice stained fingers, ice cream cones with sprinkles, polaroids, too many bug bites, White Russians, a fun and drunken bathroom visit with Debbie, sparklers, pastries at Ken’s Artisan Bakery, Anthropologie, Powell’s, Ace photobooth, Micmacs, Cyrus, public transportation, dinner at Pok Pok (my first!) and lots and lots of smiles, love and laughter. Perfect weekend to the tenth degree.

My favorite way to spend three dollars.
*first photobooth is my dad (on the right) and his friend Billy around 1964/65.

Yesterday afternoon Dave and I headed out to Sauvie Island to enjoy the sunshine and do a little berry picking at Columbia Farms. We spent an hour or so staining our fingers in strawberry and blueberry juice. $6.50 was all we spent for the above haul and we enjoyed ourselves so much we might just go again next weekend.
